Beauty Benefits of Ginger/Beauty Applications of Ginger

Ginger is a strong spice with a unique smell that enhances flavors in our food. Not only is this beneficial to our health when we consume this either as a tea or flavouring in our food, but it also has its benefits when used as a topical beauty treatment.

It’s rich in anti-oxidants and has an antiseptic property that helps in resolving many skin and hair troubles. Here are some of the beauty treatments you can do at home using ginger.

                            HAIR TREATMENT WITH GINGER

Ginger Stimulates Hair Growth

Fatty acids contained in ginger helps in stimulating hair growth by increasing blood circulation on the scalp. It’s also beneficial for thinning hair. Grate 1 tablespoon of ginger root and mix with one tablespoon of jojoba oil for your own hair mask. Massage using circular motion when applying to scalp and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash hair as you would normally using your favourite shampoo. Do this at least three times a week for great results.

Fight Split Ends Using Ginger

Excessive heat and everyday outdoor pollutants causes split ends. Use ginger extracts and apply to tips of your hair. Use regularly until you see results.

Ginger Will Help You Go Dandruff-Free

The antiseptic properties in ginger helps in treating dandruff. Make your own ginger oil by mixing 2 tablespoons of grated ginger, 3 tablespoons of olive oil (sesame oil will do too) and a dash of lemon juice. Massage to scalp and leave it for 15-30 minutes and rinse off. Do this at least three times a week for that dandruff-free scalp.

                       SKIN CARE BENEFITS OF GINGER

Skin Toner

This facial mask is a perfect blend to tone your skin giving you that radiant glow. Add 2 tablespoons of honey with 2 tablespoons of freshly grated ginger and add one teaspoon of lemon juice. Place inside refrigerator for 30 minutes. Apply this mask on your face and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash off with cool water. This softens the skin and deters aging.

White Scar Treatment

Hypopigmented scarring is a skin condition where the skin loses its pigmentation resulting in spots that are lighter from the overall skin color. Place a freshly cut sliver of ginger root over the area and leave for about 15-20 minutes. Do this daily and you will notice significant results. For those with sensitive skin, try a spot test first before applying.

Cellulite Treatment

Roughly around 40 antioxidant compounds are present in ginger that effectively reduce cellulite and in some cases, varicose veins. Antioxidants prevent damages of skin from free radicals. Apply ginger essential oils to areas where cellulite is present. If ginger oil is quite strong for your skin, mix with other essential oils like rosemary or cypress.  It’s better to do some spot application first.

Burn Treatment

Ginger juice effectively soothes skin burns in an instant. Soak a cotton ball in ginger juice and dab on affected area. Ginger juice is just cold ginger tea. Be sure to have some on your fridge ready for this first aid remedy.
These are just some of the notable applications of ginger and ginger extracts for skin and hair care. Go natural and abandon those expensive chemicals bought in the store.
